Mighty 11th Leadership-
I am excited to announce the 1st offering of our Executive Leadership Series. There are three documents attached: 1) a letter explaining some of the details of the course, 2) the schedule of the 7 different sessions, and 3) the application for the course.
I recognize that two of the sessions are during the summer, and I appreciate how that might affect vacation plans, but this was necessary to keep the momentum of the course going as we would head to Washington, D.C. in December to meet with some our IAFF attorneys and the IAFF Executive Board.
Having participated in a very similar ELS course in the IAFF's 7th District, I can tell you this will be an opportunity for labor education like you have never experienced before. It is my hope that you and your other local leaders will embrace this idea and submit your applications soon. I am hoping to get up to 16 participants, but with the fixed costs for some of the instructors needed for sessions such as the basic mediation/conflict resolution training and bringing in an arbitrator, there is going to be a need to reach a certain threshold to cover these costs.
